At Wine O'clock we visited the very delicious Jackson-Triggs Niagra Winery for their popular Winery Tour. The minimum age requirement to participate in the actual wine tasting is 19 years of age. Looking for a great experience that won't break the bank, this is certainly it. Did I mention the wine samples?
Whether your're a wine lover or looking to learn and experience something new you will certainly leave this winery happy. Perhaps you just haven't found the kind of wine that's right for you; this tour will easily help you narrow it down.

Wine tours are educational experiences; not quite the drinking only experience one would think. Yes you will be tasting wine, lots of wine but you will also tour the vineyards and walk the rows of the season's harvests. Upon entering the facilities we were greeted with a glass of  sparkling Entourage Brut. Now that's how you get a tour started!
We were then escorted outside into the vineyard where we learned how climate and Lake Ontario influences premium grape quality. Many vineyards will invite you to pluck a few grapes and sample them straight from the vine. For many it is the first time ever seeing grapes on the vine, while others are more intrigued by the distinctive flavor.
Take a walk in the vineyard and learn about the conditions necessary for quality grapes.

Kim decided to pick her own grapes after she ran out of wine.
After leaving the vineyard, we head inside to visit the production area of the winery. We learn about the wine lingo as well as the production process. The rustic look and feel greatly adds to the experience. There is something about wooden barrels and wine bottles on racks that gets you very ready for the climax; the tasting of course.

We quite enjoyed the bonding experience, perfect activity for couples and groups alike.
James and Kim toasting to the good life.
This was definitely an enjoyable experience of which the absolute best part was learning about the wine making process... naahhhhh just kidding, wine tasting was definitely the best part. We particularly enjoyed the ICEWINE with its smooth, sweet, fruity flavor. The Red Wine sampled must definitely be an acquired taste with a very tart earthy flavor, we would imagine that this was the type of wine that got the tilt, swirl and inhale type of attention.

So much more than wine tours. May we introduce you to another aspect of the winery?
Niagra: Savor the Sights Dinners. You can also enjoy a five course food and wine experience in beautiful locations throughout the winery. No trip to a winery would be complete without a purchase. We're not sure if that's even possible and we're not even going to find out. We definitely purchased our favorites to ensure that liquid magic follows us home.
